Kubla Khan

from Kubla Khan by Ian Rutherford

/

about

Inspired and read by Andrew Wilkinson.

Andrew quoted the first line in a Zoom meeting and it gave me the idea. John, Gaia and Eden joined in for the ride.

The verse of Samuel Taylor Coleridge (21 October 1772 – 25 July 1834) English poet, literary critic, philosopher and theologian who, with his friend William Wordsworth, was a founder of the Romantic Movement in England and a member of the Lake Poets. He also wrote the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

lyrics

Chorus 1

Spearing light through cathedral nave
Shakes the febrile dome
Unleaves the warp, lets the woof
Panzer Man Panzer!

Chorus 2

A bitter voice from kingdom’s past
Shakes the febrile dome
Unleaves the warp, lets the woof
Tora Tora!

Chorus 3 &4

And at end a shattered conceit
Shakes the febrile dome
Unleaves the warp, lets the woof
Shantih Shantih!
